Lesbian Reading Group
Meeting Date: 4th Thursday of each month, 6:00 - 7:30
p.m.
Location: The Women's Center, Chapel Hill (directions)
The LRC is going through a transitional period and no reading groups are scheduled at this time.
The Lesbian Reading Group focuses
on a wide range of topics including, but not limited to, women's physical
and mental health, partnering, parenting, and dealing with homophobia, self-esteem,
and becoming advocates within our communities. The aim is to share questions,
stories, and information with each other about important topics in the lesbian
community.
During each meeting, we will focus on a theme and discuss related articles,
books, or current events (Click to view Past
Themes). Each month, there will be short readings that everyone is encouraged
to read, and then additional readings of interest for those who wish to
delve further into the issue. We encourage members of the community to join
us for discussion even if they don't have time to read all of the articles
or books. Themes are chosen by members of the group. For information, please email lrcreadinggroup@yahoo.com or call The Women's Center at 919-968-4610. This group is free and is co-sponsored
by the Lesbian Resource Center.
